There are supposedly more than 300 natural arches in northwest New Mexico. Since we are social distancing and not able to get up to our usual shenanigans, we are on a mission to find all the significant arches near our home. As usual, we'll share how to get there, what to bring and super awesome pictures.
We had already explored Anasazi Arch in Cox Canyon (details on that in a different post) so today we chose Arch Rock.
To Take:
1-Water
2-Good hiking shoes
To Get there:
1-Take NM highway 550 to County Road 2651
2-Head East(ish) on County Road 2651 for 4.1 miles (after 4 miles you will see some oil pumps with some huge fans at an intersection)
3-Turn right at the huge fan intersection and proceed .6 miles
4-You will see Arch Rock on your left, there is a small road leading almost right to it, or you can park on the side of the larger road you are on and hike it.
There was no one there so we hung out for a bit and took a lot of pictures.
